Indiana's personal injury SOL is 2 years (I.C. § 34-11-2-4). Indiana's Medical Malpractice Act (I.C. § 34-18) imposes a damages cap of $1.8M per occurrence (as of 2024) and requires all medical negligence claims to go through a medical review panel before filing suit — adding 9-18 months to the process. This cap may apply to nursing home negligence claims characterized as medical malpractice.
